The question then is – why the lack of drive now? This wasn’t the case not too long ago. IPL existed even then. Is it bcoz we’ve won the WC? Nothing more left to achieve/prove?

IMHO, the main issue is the lack of killer instinct and drive to give 110%. You could see it in bowling, fielding, and batting. Most of the players are up their own arses and probably already thinking about the IPL.

You could see Pattinson, Siddle, and Hilfenhaus hunting in a pack. NO LOOSE DELIVERIES. Umesh Yadav bowled 2 half vollies in a row that were dispatched to the ropes and he just … smiled as if “oh well” !! McGrath would have been *furious* with himself had he done that, and that’s the main difference. The current players are just not hard enough on themselves.

Umesh Yadav is very promising! I am excited about his prospects. But I wish Watto and PK were playing. The injuries are taking the fun out of a good contest.

This could be our best chance to beat Australia, yes. The overdependence on Zak is worrying so I hope one of our new finds steps up, and soon. I wish IKP was going..

Nice. You’re right, I did not expect the walloping we got. I still maintain that we’d have fared much better had Zaheer been fit. Oh well, looking forward to the Aussie tour now, and so long as Zaheer is fit, we should win there (given by the current look of things). And then England tours India next year, which should also be exciting.

Also, the zoom on your camera sucks.
