Seeing the likes of Trott/KP/Eoin Morgan should tell something right ??? It get’s worse when you take the T20/ODI teams – then you add Kieswetter and Lumb ! Point rested.

Re S Af tour – for all Indian fans to have some Shanti during the series, ideally neither of the *shant* should tour

I’ll seek out some people here who follow their cricket on their opinion re the county scene.

And re SA…Zak will be back and (I/Sree)shant are going to shine in helpful conditions…you’ll see! (I died a little inside coz I counted Sreesanth as one of India’s top 3 bowlers)

Fair counter point that India had a good team despite the domestic scene.. No I’m not discounting the English county scene. In the 80′s and 90′s it was pretty good considering the overseas players that used to play here.

It’s just that even the locals complain about the inferior quality of the county scene the last few years.. Hence my point that Murali Kartik’s county performance should be taken with a pinch of salt.

Anyways, forget spinners per se , presently India don’t have a bowling attack. Good luck when this lot heads to South Africa at the end of the year. A mauling of epic proportions awaits

On the domestic scene…u think so? I thought India was a better team despite the domestic system…it was a better team because we had an experienced batting core by then, a few of those who had also had county stints under their belts among other things….
(P.S. not saying that India’s is worse off than England’s…but i don’t think we should discount county cricket completely)

Aside from that, unless you cut your teeth in the Indian domestic scene you don’t have a career to speak of anyway. All said and done, over the last decade and more, Ind have been the better team than England. Surely that’s due the difference in class/standard in each place ?

Agreed both are not the best, but it’s a case of which one is least worse

Also, the bloke is no spring chicken. Added to it is the fact that *somehow* Harby seems to be the team’s favourite. Frankly with his dismal performance of late he should have been dropped but NO he still get’s to play.

Sadly Kartik doesn’t have similar *godfathers* looking out for him.

I don’t know where to look for First class records (Cricinfo doesnt seem to have them) so I maybe wrong here, but I have read often of MK’s exploits, with Mdx and Somerset, with his domestic teams, with India A teams etc in the past couple of years.

I don’t see why he wouldn’t get another chance. But like you, even I am not too hopeful of him being back in the team.

Btw Murali Kartik’s chance came and went by ( with whatever little chances he got !). Don’t see him back in India team.
